Oh What A Love

Romans 5:7-8 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. (8) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The plan of salvation was put in place by our Creator to save us from eternal death. After the fall of Adam and Eve God promised them a saviour. Gen. 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” In Christian theology, this is called the protoevangelium. Sin did not take God off guard, He had a plan just in case man sinned.

Sure enough, the time came for the promise to be fulfilled. Galatians 4:4 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law,” the Messiah Jesus Christ came to earth to deliver us from the clutches of Satan. Showing us how to live a life free from sin. Because the wages of sin is death, we all deserve to die but God stepped in and deliver us from the penalty of sin.

We as humans are bent on doing our own thing most time. We practice sin and refuse to obey the laws of God. When our backs are against the wall then we come running to Jesus for help. The good news is that He is a friend of sinners and always seek to help those who call upon Him. When no one was willing to rescue us, God demonstrated His love towards us. Oh, what a love. His love led Him to give His life for us.

The song writer penned it right when he said, “I was lost and undone, without God or His Son, when he reached down His hand for me.” Like you my friend I should have been crucified, I should have suffered and died. I should have hung on the cross in disgrace, but Jesus God’s Son took my place. I say glory hallelujah, Oh what a Love.
