St. John 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
Jesus was in the mission field when He came to Jacob’s Well to rest awhile as His disciples went to buy food. It was the middle of the day the Bible said, and the sun was pelting down on the Son of righteous. Then it happened someone He could witness to came, and she had a waterpot. Strange because drawing of water is normally done during the morning time when it is much cooler.
But there she was alone preparing to draw water and seeing this as a witnessing opportunity the evangelist in Him got excited and He indulge her in a conversation by asking for a drink of water. How dare Him speak to a Samaritan, plus seek to get a favour from her. The woman noticed that although He offered her living water, He did not have a water pot to draw that water. Nevertheless, he got her excited because the water He refers to, according to Him will cause her to thirst no more. Oh, how she longed for it, but He was not done the strange said she had to give up her present life style and receive this water. Her heart burnt within has He told her about the life she now lived.
This was too good to keep to herself so leaving her water bucket she ran back to the city shouting to the community members. “Come see a man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
Oh, my brothers and sisters the God we serve knows about us. No secret of ours can be hidden from Him. We need to look for the opportunities He gives us to tell someone that we have a friend who offers living water. Water that will cause those who drink of it to never thirst again. He knows about us, knows our secret and invite them to taste of this living water.
